About Jefferson County Foundation
The Foundation is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that provides support and strategic guidance to address long-term issues facing Jefferson County in the Eastern Panhandle of West Virginia.
Our Mission

- Protection of health, heritage, and the environment
The Foundation is all for economic development.
We envision sustainable development that does not harm the existing natural resources in this county, including the air we breathe, water we drink, and beautiful landscape we’ve grown to love here.
The Foundation cares about the history of this county.
We believe our history makes our county a destination, and we aim to preserve it.
The Foundation knows we all drink from the same cup.
We recognize that our unique Karst geology means that we all essentially drink from the same cup for our water source. It’s imperative that we protect it now and for future generations.
